Brides are always looking for fresh color combinations for their wedding, so we decided to give you examples of a few of our favorites! Something April, Jodi, and myself all have in common are that we love simplicity.
One of my absolute favorite combinations is plum and sage. I love sage (pistachio & celadon
specifically) with just about anything (I use it any time I redecorate) because it works so well with the gardens and can be used year-round. Adding a darker tone, such as plum or burgundy, brings in the elegance for an evening wedding. A wonderful linen to accent these colors with is a Crushed Satin Camel, which bounces off the chandeliers and creates a beautiful glow throughout the room.
April is quite the romantic and will almost always add rose petals and candlelight to her décor
because it fits so wonderfully in the Garden Ballroom. To keep the ballroom light and airy, she says that lilac and pewter as well as a Crushed Satin Ivory linen with pale satin pinks are a couple of her favorite combos. For her own wedding she chose a merlot, chocolate brown, champagne along with candlelight and rose petals! One of April’s most popular sayings is, “Simplicity is key and candlelight always looks beautiful!”
Jodi’s color combos tend to depend on the season. However, one of her favorite, timeless classics includes a blend of ivories, crèmes, whites with a variety of centerpieces including floral arrangements blended with varying heights and shapes of candles. She also suggests the new
black, which is a deep navy with a nice print such as the Kensington Navy for depth. This is also another timeless classic that goes with everything! Navy can go with ivories & bright whites, yellow & golds, pewter & lilacs, variations of lighter blues such as seamist along with wonderful shades of green. The new black!!
