We are so thankful for Mother Nature's kindness and look forward to all the new colors she brings us throughout the upcoming months. I always say, I can't believe it's already a new season! So many other things have been happening at The Winfield... have you seen our new website, or our app?! But wait.. don't forget about Bark for a Cause!

Bark for a Cause is officially in the works and will be taking place on May 16th from 6-9pm, here at The Winfield Inn. TWI will be catering with our signature BBQ menu, other desserts will be provided by Sugar Mama's Bakeshop, The Sweet Stuff, and Central Market. What else is going on? Oh, well how about some lawn games, a lemonade bar from The Lemonade Co., fabulous rentals from Premiere Party Central, silent auctions, live music, pet adoptions, and awesome organization and planning from The Simplifiers!

We can't wait to see this grand plan come to life and raise so much awareness and funds for the Austin Humane Society. This organization is near and dear to all of our hearts!

Although we chose to have a destination wedding, Winfield Inn was our #1 choice in Austin! I can tell you I did my due diligence and researched every venue, and corresponded with every venues representatives in the greater Austin area. Winfield Inn is not only a beautiful lovely venue but the staff was so sweet, warm, inviting, SUPER responsive, and accommodating. I cannot say enough kind words about planner April who was our conusultant. She was amazing! What a breath of fresh air it was to tour Winfield Inn and talk with April about our wedding after touring all the other venues and dealing with their lackluster correspondence/enthusiasm...Winfield blew everyone out of the water!!! In addition, we thought Winfield was a fabulous bargain with their all-inclusive services! Cheers Winfield Inn, we will definitely sing your praises to anyone who will listen! Ashley and Nicholas

Happy Halloween!

We definitely like to have our fun here at The Winfield Inn, and will use ANY excuse to dress a little funky...

This year we decided to dress up as Kelly for Halloween. Kelly is not only a wonderful boss, loving father, and devoted husband, but also a HOOT in his every day activities. Because we enjoy his company so very much, we thought, what better way to honor him than to dress like him?! Please enjoy our day of Kelly :)

Fall in Love with Our Interns

We have six fabulous interns this semester and we’re LOVING it! These girls have done an amazing job this past month and we are so excited to see them grow throughout the rest of the season.

Ashley Clark
Major: Consumer Science
School: Texas State University
After graduation: I want to move to the islands!
Favorite part of the internship: Seeing every bride and groom’s individual personalities showcased in their wedding and being surrounded by love and happiness!

Barbara Siller
Major: International Business
School: St. Edward's University
Plans after graduation: 1st order of business would be to volunteer in Africa after graduation followed by going into the wedding and events industry and/or hospitality management geared towards banquet and/or sales and marketing. :)
Favorite part of the internship: Every single part of it has so far been a learning process, always something new! Lastly, I love the feeling at the end where the bride and groom look the happiest ever; it’s so rewarding!

Plans After Graduation: Pursue a career in event planning and getting married on September 22nd 2012
Favorite part of the Internship: Getting to work with the brides and see what creative ideas they have for their special day... and of course eating Matt's fabulous food :)

Plans after graduation: Destination weddings or public relations at Disney or corporate event planning and public relations for Chik-Fil-A.
Favorite part of the internship: The centerpieces on the tables that each bride picks! So gorgeous!

Meagan Hefley

Major: Mass Communications - Advertising

School: Texas State University

Plans after graduation: I have already graduated, but plan to continue to learn about the Events Industry. I would like to become a Wedding Coordinator, as well as branch out into Corporate and Special Events. My long term goal is to be the owner of a consulting agency.

Favorite part of the internship: The best part of this, is the interaction with the bride and groom. I love being able to assure them that everything will be taken care of, and this is one of the best days of their lives. It's so rewarding to hear the sigh of relief and "thank you" as they take their final steps to becoming married. Their smiles are priceless.

Emily Hart
Major: Applied Sociology
School: Texas State University
Plans after graduation: Work in the hotel industry to become a manager some place tropical!
Favorite part of the internship: The weddings!!! I love the personal touches that they add, such as photo booths and the creative favors.

Hello Holidays!!!

The Winfield Inn family would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! As we approach the holiday season we cannot help but get excited about all that 2011 has in store. Not only do we have some amazing weddings to look forward to, but we are also doing some great things to The Winfield itself. If you visit The Inn in the next month or two, you will see us painting, building, moving, hauling, and sooo much more! We have a great staff that puts their whole heart and every muscle into this place and that is what we are thankful for today.

2011 will also be our 10th anniversary! The Winfield Inn has seen so much growth in the past decade and who do we have to thank for that? YOU! Without the support of our couples and their families, we could not do any of this.

So thank you to our Winfield family and our amazing couples. We have a great thing going here and have nothing but more great things to look forward to!

Favorite Part of the Internship: There are so many awesome things to choose from so I will put my top three favorites! 1. I have made the most amazing friends through this internship 2. I had the chance to plan, market, and gain support for a benefit for the Austin Humane Society and 3. I get to celebrate the most important day in a couple’s life with them!

Plans after graduating: Move to Houston and find a job in corporate event planning
Favorite part of the internship: Getting different ideas for wedding decor and seeing the happy brides and grooms!

Favorite part of the internship: My favorite part of the internship was getting to know the brides and their personal interests. I really liked going to the layout meetings and hearing each brides vision for the ballroom and then seeing it all come together the day of the wedding. I also really enjoyed hanging out with the other interns at work, and outside of work. It was really cool to get to know them so well and learning to work with them as a team. They made the long days really fun and exciting.

April and Robyn... Partners In Crime!

We would like to inform you of our newest endeavour... Full Circle Fitness! This is something that we have both dreamed about for quite some time now and are so excited to finally see it come to life!!!

Along with wedding coordinating, fitness is our other passion and we hope for the opportunity to share this with you at our launch party NEXT WEDNESDAY, February 17th at The Winfield Inn. The event will begin at 6pm in the Garden Ballroom with a short introduction to each of our group fitness classes including PiYo, Bootcamp and Total Body Toning, followed by a meet and greet with some healthy snacks.

We did it!!!

April and I finished the 3M Half Marathon last weekend! Woohoo!!! You may remember that we walked one in Houston last year while she was pregnant with little Faith, but we were actually able to run this year!

It was April's 2nd half marathon and my first and I won't sugar coat it... it was hard. But SO amazing to reach our goals!!! Now it's time to prepare for the next one :)
