What would we do without our amazing interns?!?

I want to give a very special thank you to all of our summer interns! They are absolutely fabulous and if you have not had the chance to meet them, I hope you will soon J They have all been working extra hard in these Texas temperatures so they deserve a huge applause! I asked them each to fill out a questionnaire so that all of our past, present, and future brides can get to know them.

School:
Texas State University
Major: Fashion Merchandising
After graduation: Hopefully move to Florida and work in the event planning/wedding coordinating industry
Favorite part of the internship: It is hard to pick just one thing! I love the people I work with, knowing we made the bride and groom, their families, and guests happy, and watching the gazebo and ballroom go from nothing to exactly what the bride and groom want!

Kelsey
School:
Texas State University- Senior
Major: Business Management; focus in Hotel and Restaurant
After graduation: I will be graduating from Texas State in May of 2010. I hope to have a “real” job already in place by then, but if not I will be continuing my search. As of now, I hope to acquire a job in the field of event coordinating. I love interacting with people, staying busy, and enjoy having diversity in my day. I could even see myself working in the hotel business as a coordinator of different events.
Favorite part of the internship: My favorite part about this internship is being able to work with such an incredible and compassionate team. All of the staff members at The Winfield Inn are phenomenal and they go out of their way to make your day special! Being able to intern at The Winfield has been an incredible opportunity. There is always something new to learn and I have learned more than I thought I ever would. This experience will leave a lasting positive impression on me, and I thank everyone at The Winfield for that.

School:
Graduated (May 2009!!) from Texas State University
Major: Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication-emphasis in Advertising
After graduation: This summer I’m interning to gain some experience and perspective on what it’s really like to be a wedding planner. After this ends, I hope to get a job in the event planning industry... Yes that’s vague for a reason—I love planning, performing and people (it’s exciting to see how different everyone’s story is), so I’m looking for any job that incorporates what I love, in a city I love! :)
Favorite part of the internship: I have an awesome job, I get to see how many ways two people can celebrate one day: dove releases, henna tattoos, mixing sand, grand marches/dances, the breaking of the wedding glass, a Jewish horah (chair) dance, cards drawn by kindergartners, belly dancing, prayers/readings, and the list only goes on. I’m just excited to be involved in such a blessed time!

Haley
School:
Texas State University – San Marcos
Major: Fashion Merchandising
After graduation: Currently looking for an event coordinator position in the Austin area. The surrounding hill country is too beautiful to leave!
Favorite part of the internship: Getting to work in a place where the staff, coordinators, owners, and clients are all amazing. A lot of hard work goes in to the planning process but seeing the end result and how happy the family and friends are on the big day makes the whole process well worth it.

Thank you all for everything that you do!
