“Hello, my name is Bride, and I am on a budget.”
All together now, “Hi Bride!”
Isn’t everyone on a budget in one way or another? If not, then go away because we’re jealous of you. Planning a wedding on a budget is one of the most popular topics of conversation these days and unfortunately, it’s stressful! Here are some simple ways to cut down without thinking twice:
- CUT YOUR GUESTCOUNT!!! I know it seems hard to eliminate your best friend from 3rd grade who you haven’t spoken to since she stole your other best friend in 7th, but you have to be honest with yourself and your family about who you really want there. Cutting your headcount by 20 people will eliminate 2 tables, 2 linens, 20 chairs, 20 plates, and 20 less to serve!
- Flowers can be expensive! If you have an outdoor wedding, which about half of our Austin area brides do, you are most likely very fortunate to have lots of greenery with lush, colorful gardens surrounding your reception space. Since all of that color comes with the property, spring for candlelight! Renting candelabras is a great, inexpensive, and beautiful way to decorate! See other WWW for decorating ideas ;)
- But you want flowers? Ask your florist what is in season, buy petals for your aisle and exit in bulk online, and use your bouquets as centerpieces!
- Menu cards, programs, and fans?!? Who says all 3 have to be separate and there has to be enough for everyone? Print one menu, frame it, and place it at the serving line! As for those programs, have them printed on the fan and have enough for each couple or family!
Problems solved!
